Terms of service

Last updated: September 2026

Kerb Wise is a UK editorial site that publishes independent research on breakdown cover providers. This page sets out the terms on which we make that content available to you.

By using kerbwise.co.uk you accept these terms. If you don’t agree with them, please don’t use the site.

Who we are

We can be reached at [email protected]; every route is on the contact page.

We are not a breakdown cover provider, broker, or financial-services firm. We do not sell breakdown cover and we are not authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority. We publish editorial research and opinion to help readers compare providers.

What our content is — and isn’t

Our reviews and comparisons are editorial opinion based on a daily check of providers’ own pages (see our methodology) and our own judgement. They are intended to help you compare options — not to replace your own assessment of whether a specific product suits your circumstances.

Content on Kerb Wise is not regulated financial advice. We don’t take into account your personal situation, your vehicle, your travel patterns, or your risk tolerance. Decisions about which breakdown policy to buy are yours alone.

If a provider’s terms have changed since our last audit, the provider’s own pages take precedence. We re-audit daily but our published content reflects a snapshot, not the live state of every provider at every moment.

Commercial relationships

Some links on the site are affiliate links. If you click through and buy a policy, Kerb Wise may receive a commission from the provider at no additional cost to you. Some articles are paid editorial partnerships; each one is labelled “Partner content” at the top and names the partner.

Neither influences our scores, rankings, or the order in which providers appear. Full detail: how we make money and editorial policy.

Third-party links

Kerb Wise links to third-party sites (breakdown providers, Companies House, Trustpilot, Defaqto, Fairer Finance, and others). We don’t control those sites and we aren’t responsible for their content, accuracy, or availability. Use them at your own discretion.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • scrape, crawl, or reproduce substantial portions of the site for commercial purposes without permission;
  • misrepresent our editorial content (quoting in good faith is fine — repackaging it as your own isn’t);
  • attempt to interfere with the site’s normal operation, security, or availability;
  • use Kerb Wise content in any way that misleads consumers about a provider’s actual offering.

Intellectual property

Editorial text, design, and the Kerb Wise marque are the property of the operator named above. You may quote short passages for review or commentary with attribution. Logos and brand marks belonging to breakdown providers remain the property of those providers and appear here under fair-use for editorial purposes.

If you believe content on the site infringes your rights, contact us at /contact/ with the specifics and we’ll respond promptly.

No warranty

We work hard to keep our content accurate and up to date. We re-audit provider pages daily and publish corrections when we find errors. Even so, the site is provided “as is” — we don’t warrant that it is error-free, complete, or current at every moment.

Always verify policy details with the provider before committing to buy.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Kerb Wise and its operator will not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from your use of the site or your reliance on the content we publish.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death, personal injury, fraud, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Privacy and cookies

Our use of personal data and cookies is set out in the privacy policy, which forms part of these terms.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be noted at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute relating to them or to your use of the site will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
